Refund Policy

This policy explains when and how you can request a refund for a paid Offsend purchase. Offsend is a macOS utility that helps you avoid accidentally sending sensitive data to third-party AI services and other apps. Paid plans are sold through Freemius, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Freemius processes your payment, sends order confirmation, and handles refund requests for eligible transactions. The free tier is not subject to this policy.

1. Summary — 7-day Money Back Guarantee

If, during the first 7 days following the purchase date, you experience a defect that makes Offsend's material functions unusable, and following your cooperation with our support team we are unable to resolve it, we will issue a full refund of the purchase price or provide you with a replacement, non-defective product.

For clarity, any defect or lack of use arising from a conflict or incompatibility with a third-party product, software, or service is not covered by this policy, and nor are missing features.

This policy works alongside our Terms and Conditions, Freemius's Buyer Terms, and the Freemius Refund Policy. If there is any inconsistency, Freemius's Buyer Terms and Refund Policy govern billing and refund processing. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights that apply in your jurisdiction.

2. Who processes payments and refunds

When you buy a paid Offsend plan, you enter into a transaction with Freemius Inc. as the Merchant of Record. Lab 13 is the supplier of the Offsend product. Freemius charges your payment method, sends confirmation by email, and processes eligible refunds.

For product or technical issues, contact us first at [email protected]. We will work with you to identify and resolve the problem. If we cannot resolve it within the 7-day refund period, you may request a refund from Freemius using the methods in Section 4.

3. When you may be entitled to a refund

Refunds are available within 7 calendar days from the purchase date if all of the following apply:

  • you experienced a defect or bug that prevents Offsend's material functions from working as described;
  • you contacted our support team and cooperated with troubleshooting (logs, system info, and reproduction steps as reasonably requested);
  • we were unable to resolve the issue within the refund period.

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • missing features or feature requests;
  • defects, conflicts, or incompatibilities arising from third-party products, software, services, or environments (for example, conflicting macOS extensions, sandboxed apps that block automation, or other AI tools);
  • changes you have made to your system, OS configuration, or security settings that prevent Offsend from running;
  • evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or other manipulative behavior.

Statutory consumer rights. Depending on where you live, mandatory consumer protection laws may give you additional rights. For example, consumers in the European Union, EEA, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom may have a 14-day right of withdrawal for eligible digital purchases, subject to local exceptions for digital content that you began using after express consent at checkout. Where statutory rights apply, they take precedence over the terms of this policy to the extent required by law.

Subscriptions. If you purchased an annual subscription, the 7-day refund window applies to the initial payment. Renewal charges are not refundable except where local law requires otherwise. You can cancel a subscription at any time to stop future renewals — cancellation alone does not refund the current period.

4. How to request a refund or cancel a subscription

To request a refund or cancel a subscription, use one of the following:

  • click the "View invoice" or "Manage subscription" link in your Freemius receipt email;
  • visit your Freemius customer portal at users.freemius.com and select the order;
  • for technical issues, contact us first at [email protected] — we will help troubleshoot and, if the issue cannot be resolved, coordinate the refund.

Include the email address used at checkout and your order or receipt reference if available. Freemius uses its transaction records to verify eligibility and timing.

You can cancel a subscription at any time with effect from the end of your current billing period. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current period unless a refund is also approved under this policy.

5. After approval

If your refund is approved, Freemius will process it back to the same payment method where possible. Refunds are typically completed within a few business days of approval, though your bank or card issuer may take additional time to show the credit on your statement.

When a refund is issued, the Pro license tied to that purchase will be revoked. You may continue using the free tier if it remains available.

6. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you have a billing concern, please contact Offsend support or Freemius before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer. Direct contact usually leads to a faster resolution.

If you raise a chargeback or payment reversal, access to the relevant Pro license may be temporarily suspended while the matter is reviewed. Unauthorized chargebacks for valid charges may result in permanent loss of paid access if fraud or abuse is found.

7. Regional consumer rights

If mandatory consumer protection laws in your country give you rights beyond this policy, those rights apply to the extent required by law. Where local law and Freemius's policies differ, the highest level of protection available to you applies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that transaction unless applicable law requires otherwise.
